A Tale of Two Cities

After being married 10 months, we already need a vacation. We are splitting up! Emily is going to live and work in Chicago for 2 months while I move to New York. Emily got a wonderful internship at Golin Harris Public Relations in Chicago. She is moving to the dorms at University of Chicago with about 10 othere BYU Student. She is excited for the opportunity, but sad at our separation.

I am going back to NY to work do another internship at PriceWaterhouseCoopers. This summer I am going to live in Brooklyn, in a cool area called Bedford / Williamsburg. It was a fun place. It was a studio, so quite an experience living in such a small place. Within PwC, I worked in the Treasury Specialist Services group. We focused on FAS 133 (financial reporting compliance for Derivative Products). I learned a great amount, but realized that PwC was not the career path for me. But, I did get to see a lot of Broadway shows and travel around the East Coast.

It was nice to get back together in August after the 2 month separation. The one thing that made it bearable was the fact that we saw each other almost every week -- we racked up a lot of frequent flyer miles on Southwest, but it was worth it. It was worth getting back to Provo to end the tale of our 2 cities.
