WEDDING!

Emily and I tied the know on August 29, 2006. We were married in Oakland, California on a beautiful day. We had the most gorgeous reception. The food was incredible, fun to see all our friends, the Bride was breath-taking, and we even had a string quartet!

Emily and I went on a 4-day honeymoon to Carmel. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Highlands Inn. We had an unbelievable view of the Pacific ocean from our room. It was so much fun.

On Saturday after the wedding & honeymoon, we raced back to Fremont to meet Emily's parents, where we flew to Arizona for another reception. You could almost call it a Thornock reunion because of all the Thornocks and kids running around. It was so much fun!

On Monday, we flew to Utah to begin school on Tuesday while Mom & Dad Thornock drove all of our stuff. Thanks Grandma & Grandpa Sugar!! We tried to get settled in, but had lots to do with school books, buying furniture, and preparations. Still, we would not trade it for the world.

Life has been so good to us. We are so happy and love being married. Does life get any better than this!

Pre-Wedding Vacation - Hawaii

Emily and her parents have been planning a vacation to Maui Hawaii for almost a year. What they hadnt planned was her engagement to me and our wedding 2 weeks after Hawaii. So, Bob/Carol (out of the goodness of their hearts, and a little obligation because I am soon to be part of the family), invited me to go to Hawaii with them. I had a PwC week vacation in Disneyland Florida, and then flew to Hawaii to meet them.

Maui is incredible. We stayed at the Welch Trademark place, Napili Kai. It was heaven on earth. It was so much fun to relax on the beach, snorkel, drive our Mustang Convertible on the Road to Hana, hike Haleakula, go to a Luau, drive to Iao Valley, eat Hulu Pie, and play in Lahaina. It was the most relaxing, best vacation ever! We had so much fun. Definitely one we will never forget. Thanks Bob/Carol.

Summer 2006 Engagement

1 week after getting engaged, I had to leave for New York. I accepted an internship with PwC in the Forensic Auditing group, called Dispute Analysis and Investigation. I lived in Washington Heights, in upper Manhattan. I think the area is also considered Spanish Harlem. There were 3 BYU guys living in a 1 bedroom apt. It was quite an experience.

It was hard to be away from Emily for the summer. She had to stay in Provo because she did the Spring semester at BYU, and then was a Sports Camp Counselor at BYU. The good thing about it was that my good friends Taylor Jones and Jaren Nichols were also in NYC. We had a great time going to Broadways, Mets/Yankee games, Washington D.C., Philly, Boston, and even to Six Flags New Jersey. It was a fun summer. And the best part, I didnt even have to do any wedding planning! :-) Thanks Carol for all your help.

New Blog Account Created

I just wanted to start a new blog. I figure that since Emily has become a master of blogging because of her internship this past summer at Golin Harris in Chicago, I should get up to date with the times. I hope you enjoy it!

Engagement - May 2006

Emily Welch and I are getting married! I proposed on May 27, 2006. I sent her on a scavenger hunt, and at the end, I was waiting for her with 2 dozen red roses. Thanks to Rick/Barb for all their help. It was nice to have Bob/Carol in town, able to participate in the wonderful celebration. We are so excited to be getting married.
